1) What we do

Backstage curates hotels and travel content and enables you to search, compare, and book accommodations. We also provide free city guides and travel content for personal use. We currently do not sell itineraries or paid digital downloads. Unless we explicitly state otherwise, we act as an agent for the relevant supplier (e.g., hotel) and transmit your booking details to them. The supplier is responsible for fulfilling your stay and setting applicable policies.

2) Your account

You must be 18+. Provide accurate information and keep credentials secure. You're responsible for activity in your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach, suspected fraud, or misuse.

3) Bookings, rates & confirmations

• Availability & pricing are supplier-provided and dynamic until confirmed.
• A booking is confirmedwhen you receive our (or the supplier's) confirmation with a booking reference.
• Taxes & fees. Displayed prices generally include mandatory taxes/charges; some local taxes/resort fees are payable at the property. Currency conversions are indicative.
• Special requests (e.g., bed type, late arrival) are not guaranteed unless confirmed in writing by the supplier.
• Group bookings & B2B may be subject to additional terms and deposit schedules.

4) Changes, cancellations & no-shows

Supplier-specific policies govern changes, cancellations, and no-shows. Review Rate Rules shown before checkout and in your confirmation. Refunds follow the original payment route and timelines of the Merchant of Record and payment provider. Backstage service fees, where applicable, may be non-refundable unless required by law.

5) Payment & billing

We use Stripe as our payment processor to process payments securely. By paying, you authorize the applicable Merchant of Record to charge your card for the total price (including taxes/fees) and any post-stay charges disclosed by the supplier (e.g., damage, minibar). For fraud prevention and regulatory compliance, additional verification may be required (e.g., 3-D Secure, ID checks). Chargebacks must be made in good faith.

6) Guides & content (free)

We provide city guides and travel content free of charge for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not resell, redistribute, or publicly post our guides or content without our written permission. Our guides and on-site content are for general information only and are not a substitute for official sources (e.g., government advisories) or professional advice. Opening hours, prices, and policies can change; please verify important details. Since we do not sell itineraries or paid downloads, consumer withdrawal rules for paid digital content do not apply.

7) Property rules & responsibilities

You must comply with property rules, check-in requirements, and local laws. Hotels may refuse service for policy violations or unsafe behavior. You are liable for damage you or your guests cause, and the hotel may charge your card accordingly.

8) Travel documentation & advisories

You are responsible for valid passports, visas, vaccinations, and compliance with entry/exit rules. Check official government advisories. We are not liable for denial of boarding/entry resulting from missing documentation.

9) Intellectual property

All content on the Platform-text, logos, design, software, and databases-is owned by Backstage or its licensors and protected by IP laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Platform for personal, non-commercial purposes. Reverse engineering, scraping, and bulk data extraction are prohibited.

10) User content

If you post reviews, photos, or other content, you grant Backstage a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, and display that content in connection with the Platform and our marketing. You represent that you own or have rights to the content and that it doesn't infringe third-party rights or contain unlawful material.

11) Acceptable use

Do not: (a) misuse the Platform (e.g., probe/scan/test vulnerabilities); (b) circumvent access or rate limits; (c) use the Platform to compete or build a similar service; (d) engage in fraud, deception, or illegal acts; (e) interfere with or disrupt the Platform.

12) Third-party services

The Platform may integrate third-party services (e.g., maps, messaging). Their terms and privacy practices govern your use of those services. We are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

13) Warranties & disclaimers

The Platform and content are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation or that information is current, complete, or accurate.

14) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Backstage and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for loss of profits, revenues, goodwill, data, or use-even if advised of the possibility-arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Platform. Our aggregate liability for direct damages will not exceed the greater of (i) EUR 100 or (ii) the total fees you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law (e.g., fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence).

15) Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Backstage, its directors, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, violation of law or third-party rights, or misuse of the Platform.

16) Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the DIFC Courts to resolve any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Platform. Consumers in the EEA/UK may benefit from mandatory consumer protections of their country of residence.

17) Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for breach, suspected fraud, or risk to the Platform. You may terminate by closing your account. Provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g., IP, disclaimers, limitations, indemnities) survive termination.

18) Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified via the Platform or email and become effective on the stated date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

20) Additional provisions

• B2B/Corporate.Corporate, agency, or group accounts may be subject to an MSA and a DPA; if there's a conflict, the MSA/DPA prevails.
• Force majeure. Neither party is liable for delays/failures due to events beyond reasonable control.
• Severability. If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
• Assignment. You may not assign without our consent; we may assign to an affiliate or in a reorganization/sale.
• Entire agreement. These Terms, rate rules, and referenced policies form the entire agreement between you and Backstage.
